James Omingo Magara is a seasoned leader and public servant with a distinguished career in governance, trade, and constitutional reforms. He served as the Member of Parliament for South Mugirango (2001-2010), holding key roles such as Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee and Assistant Minister for Trade in 2008. He played a pivotal role in Kenya’s constitutional reforms as a member of the Constitutional Review Commission and the Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Implementation, contributing to the Constitution of Kenya 2010. As Chairperson of KICC, he led Kenya in hosting major global events like WTO, TICAD, and UNCTAD. Magara also served as a Council Member at Karatina University, advocating for higher education. Currently, as the Party Leader of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), he remains committed to fostering economic growth, accountable leadership, and community empowerment in Kisii County and beyond.
